This is the most entertaining book-review I've had the pleasure to read in a long while, it begins:
"I had to break my own arms to keep from slitting my throat while reading this book."
Drunks and losers,
Dwarves with limps,
Flos and ho's and one-eyed pimps -
Down the alleyway they creep.
They're all your friends when you can't sleep.

And now a revelation.
For the few people who read this blog...
For those privileged eyes...
My darkest, most closely held secret...
Something you must never ever share with another soul...
Something you must, for your sakes and the sakes of all you hold dear, keep hidden...

I am...

I just Googled "Lady Saw" + lesbian because of a theory I have, and have had for a long time (Lady Saw is the DJ featured on No Doubt's "Underneath it All"). Her lyrics are full of the kind of raw, over-the-top nymphomania that it would take for her to succeed on the Jamaican dancehall circuit, but in her interviews, she comes across as almost androgynous, very Ellen DeGeneres. No heterosexual energy whatsoever. It's hard to explain, but if you have ever seen an interview with Queen Latifah, or Jodie Foster you know what I mean.

"Fluck yew!"
Tis from aldaily's bad writing contest page:
"The move from a structuralist account in which capital is understood to structure social relations in relatively homologous ways to a view of hegemony in which power relations are subject to repetition, convergence, and rearticulation brought the question of temporality into the thinking of structure, and marked a shift from a form of Althusserian theory that takes structural totalities as theoretical objects to one in which the insights into the contingent possibility of structure inaugurate a renewed conception of hegemony as bound up with the contingent sites and strategies of the rearticulation of power. "

From Fark:
A MAN who beat his wife with a broomstick has escaped justice after she was dobbed in as an illegal immigrant and deported before charges could be heard.

Courtesy of Fark:
"Paul says he was recently on the bus when an Israeli man went up to a Philippine woman in a seat and demanded that she vacate it.

"He told her, 'You're not an Israeli, you have no right sit in that seat.' And the woman got up.'"

Nobody, not the foreign workers nor the Israelis on the bus, protested, he says."
